January in Review
1/1 I walked and took AJ outside. I did some tax stuff for my new job. I donated plasma. We went as a family to Red Lobster for dinner and then got treats at Paris Baguette afterward.
1/2 I lifted weights. I took AJ to the playground. I cleared off my phone and started drafting some goals and reflecting on the previous year. I did some Scholastic grading for payment.
1/3 I did leg day and figured out our new Robo vac. I got lunch at Itto Sushi with Kristen and AJ. We went on a walk. I did some more grading. I had some laptop troubles
1/4 I walked, and did cleaning and laundry. We went grocery shopping as a family. It was a pretty low-key day.
1/5 I went for a walk outside, went to the bank and Dutch Bros, and spent some time on finances. I did some copy editing. We took AJ to the aquarium for the first time. Matthew made lasagna.
1/6 I took AJ to daycare, went to the gym to do squats, did some stuff for unemployment, and did a bunch of other things at the computer. I went to the movies to see A Complete Unknown about Bob Dylan. I did some other errands and picked up AJ. We spent a little bit of time outside.
1/7 I took AJ to daycare. I went and did bench presses. I worked on my birthday details, did a lot of things at the computer, showered, ate lunch, and had someone come over to fix an issue with our balcony. I got Crumbl and picked up AJ. My whole body hurt on this day.
1/8 was a busy day. I walked, showered, and fixed my messed up nails. AJ and I ran errands to the post office, Barnes & Noble, and met Matthew for lunch at firehouse subs. We went to the mall after lunch and then came home. I got ready for the hockey game and had a meeting online first. I went to the Utah hockey game with my new coworkers.
1/9 I did deadlifts at the gym and took AJ to Paris Baguette and the aquarium. I worked on some more finances and other stuff at the computer. I took AJ to his burn appointment. I picked up pizza and soda. My mom came over that evening to talk about some things.
1/10 I walked on the treadmill and took AJ to daycare. I had orientation at my new job. I went to Nothing Bundt Cakes, picked up AJ, and had Matthew pick up dinner.
1/11 I went to the gym. Matthew did most of the cleaning. I did several loads of laundry. I went on a walk, got groceries, and we went to Costco and Mooyah as a family. I did a couple of things at the computer. It was just a normal evening at home.
1/12 we had a really lazy morning. I went on a snowy walk outside. I took AJ to Paris Baguette. We met our neighbors at the aquarium. Matthew and I drove by my new job and also picked up ice cream at blue moo. They sell bluebell ice cream. We had crockpot chili for dinner. I did some preparations for work the next day.
1/13 I was up early to lift weights. I got to work by eight. It was a busy day setting everything up. I picked up AJ and picked up cookies for us. It was a normal evening at home (which currently consist of dinner, dishes, litter box, emptying Robo vacuums, washing face, doing red light therapy, getting ready for lunch and breakfast the next day, Duolingo, bath time, and bedtime).
1/14 I got up early to lift weights. I toured one of our buildings at work and met with the chief human resources officer. I picked up AJ. Matthew picked up pizza. It was a normal evening.
1/15 I walked on the treadmill. Work was pretty mellow. I picked up popcorn after work and then picked up AJ. We went to Itto Sushi as a family. It was just a normal evening at home again.
1/16 I got up early to lift. I did another building tour. Matthew had made Zuppa Toscana the previous evening, so we had that for dinner. We had to hustle and find someone to watch AJ the next day since our daycare lady had a plumbing emergency. It was stressful.
1/17 I got up to lift weights. I picked up AJ from our neighbor's house. They graciously took him while they sent their own daughter to daycare. I got blood work done with AJ. We had a little lunch date with ice cream afterward. I cleaned the master bathroom shower curtain. I did several loads of laundry and most of the cleaning. It was an otherwise normal evening at home.
1/18 I walked, did laundry, took AJ to get a haircut, then we went to Smith's, Paris Baguette, and back home for lunch and a nap. I went on another walk. We took AJ to our wonderful neighbors' house so we could go on a date. We went to Napoli Italian restaurant, Sweetaly gelato, and Trader Joe's.
1/19 I tried to sleep in. I did two yoga sessions and a walk. I made breakfast and put clothes away. I went to a coffee place downtown for a yelp event, got gas, took AJ on a walk, and had a Doula consult. I did some stuff at the computer and finished my audiobook. We took AJ to my mom's house for dinner.
1/20 was my first time having this day off in many years. I got up to go to the gym. I took AJ to daycare and went straight to the laundromat to clean my comforter. I did some work while I was waiting for that to wash. I went next door to Sagato, and across the street to Tous Les Jours where I did a little bit more work. I came home and puttered around the house, making my bed, doing dishes, budgeting and taking care of bills. I went on a walk and started and finished an audiobook. I did some more stuff on the computer and then picked up AJ. It was a normal evening at home.
1/21 I got up to lift weights. Work was really busy. It was a normal evening at home.
1/22 I got up to go on a walk. Work was good. I met with my boss's boss. I toured another building. I picked up AJ, and we met Matthew at Ying's for dinner. It was a normal evening.
1/23 I woke up early to lift weights. Work was good with another building tour and some editing. We went to lunch at Slackwater as a team. I also was finally able to enroll in insurance. I picked up AJ. I had a Doula consult that I think went really well. It was an otherwise normal evening.
1/24 I was up early to lift weights. I got scared on my way to the car as a stranger was under the stairs and spoke to me in the dark. I did a half day of work. I did lots of financial stuff. I went to Pirate O's, Aubergine for lunch, and Dollar tree. I cleaned and did laundry. I picked up AJ. It was a normal evening.
1/25 AJ woke up early, probably to punish me for some reason. I started laundry and walked on the treadmill. I got groceries. I cleaned the floor while AJ napped. I worked on some contract work. We went to Costco as a family and had pizza for dinner at Costco.
1/26 we went to breakfast as a family at Landmark Grill. We got ready and went to the aquarium. I went on a walk and tried to nap. I finished my paperback finally. We watched our neighbor's daughter so they could go on a date. It was a normal evening. We watched Lost. It was this day that we started to feel a little bit under the weather. We gave AJ medicine for allergies.
1/27 was a really rough night with AJ waking up. I slept in and walked instead of lifting. AJ and I both started to not feel very well. After work I picked up AJ, drove to Draper to pick up Matthew, and then we drove to Orem for Dianne's birthday dinner. I was coughing all day long.
1/28 I slept in again since I coughed all night long. I just did some walks throughout the day. It was a really busy day at work. I picked up AJ and made him some dinner. I did all the normal evening stuff except I also was participating in a Facebook group for kids books. I did dishes and tidied.
1/29 I once again just walked in the morning. Work was actually pretty quiet so I did a lot of trainings. I picked up AJ. It was a normal evening.
1/30 I got up to do deadlifts. I got to work early because it was an insane day where I was dual functioning as a student and as a helper for a four hour class and another three hour class. It was a good day, just really crazy. I picked up AJ and also grabbed pizza to take home. It was a normal evening.

1/31 I walked on the treadmill and worked a half day. I met Amber for lunch at Wasabi sushi in Draper. I stopped at Nothing Bundt Cakes for the buy one get one deal. I came home and continued birthday party planning. I started laundry and cleaning. I picked up AJ and got gas. I went through my photos on my phone to highlight for the month. It was a normal evening at home.
All in all, this really just felt like a long month. It didn't help that we spent the final week of the month sick.
