June in Review

6/1 I went back to the gym for the first time since before surgery. I didn't go too crazy. I had new hire orientation at work with a quiet group which is kind of challenging. I picked up AJ from daycare at Katie's, as she's our backup daycare this week. AJ was SO happy after being at her house. After dinner we gave AJ a bath and did bed time.

6/2 I didn't get up for a workout. I've been waking up so sleepy. Work was kind of busy--a 1:1 and some ESL meetings with managers. I picked up AJ, and we had dinner at Hire's. We went to Hogle Zoo for the Sunset Safari. We left about 7:45 as we never know how AJ will do when it gets late. We did bed time.

6/3 I slept in for the gym but got up to do a work out in the basement. Work was fun as we went to Disrupt HR in Lehi, an event our CHRO puts on. It's a fun time. I picked up AJ and made shrimp Alfredo and veggies for dinner. We spent some time outside, and did bath and bed time. AJ was very sweet and loving, saying things like, "Mom I'm so happy you came to pick me up!" "Mom, I just love you so much." "I LOVE books!"

6/4 I got up for a walk. Work was pretty quiet. I picked up AJ and made mini English muffin pizzas for dinner. AJ had requested it the day before; he remembered I had bought the stuff the previous week. We spent some time in the backyard. I watered, weeded, and bounced on the trampoline with AJ. I cleaned him up but not in a full bath. We did bed time. We watched Shrinking.

6/5 I got up to lift downstairs. I got donuts to take to work for National Donut Day. I had acupuncture after work. I got groceries and started laundry and cleaning. I picked up AJ and took him down to my grandma's house to spend time with my brother's family.

6/6 AJ woke us up early. I did cardio and showered. We stopped at Raw Bean, and met mom, Josh, Jason, Kellie, and Kai at the condo pool. They came over. We had hot dogs and snacks. AJ had us turn on Hocus Pocus. We went to the Other Side Donuts and Swig as a family. We made mini pizzas for dinner. We did bath and bed time. We watched Shrinking.

6/7 I fed AJ and went on a walk. AJ and I went to church for an hour. I brought him home then went to Walmart, Dutch Bros, and brought home Little Caes for lunch. I set up the Fire Stick downstairs. We watched Hoppers with AJ. We did weekly prep (lunch, supplements), and watered the garden. I did water balloons with AJ. After bed time we watched Dutton Ranch.

6/8 I got up to lift weights--back at the barbell for the first time since surgery. I had my post-op appointment, almost four weeks after surgery. I picked up AJ and made orange chicken, rice, and veggies for dinner. I was already sore the same day as my workout. We did AJ's bath and bed time, then watched Peaky Blinders.

6/9 I got up to run before work to see if it would help with my soreness. I sat at reception in building 1 at work for a few hours. I picked up AJ, and we met Matthew at Apollo Burgers for dinner. We spent time in the yard watering and weeding. After bed time, we watched Peaky Blinders.

6/10 I got up to walk before work because I was still super sore. Work was pretty busy--finally finished a course I was working on. I got AJ, cooked dinner (kielbasa, rice, veggies), and cleaned up. Matthew did bath time. AJ fell asleep before 8:30, and Matthew went to the movies. I watched Outlander and used my acupressure mat on my legs.

6/11 I got up for the gym and was thankfully feeling much better. I helped out at reception again at work so our receptionist could go to class. We found out this day that Dianne's husband Dan passed away following a long period of health complications and a surgery.

6/12 I went for a morning walk. I got to work early to set up for the "watch party" of the announcement of the company sale to Mitsui Chemical. I took AJ to his dentist appointment after work which ended up being full of really bad news; I was really upset. We got groceries. I put away groceries and packed up AJ. My mom came to get him for a sleepover. I went to my first Witchy Book Club. Matthew and I watched Dutton Ranch.

Big company announcement

6/13 I got up at 7 and started laundry. Matthew and I went to the gym. We had breakfast at First Watch. We showered, got ready, got Raw Bean drinks, and went to my mom's. We hung out there for a little while. We left to Chad and Jordyn's. I realized I left Matthew and I's swimsuits at home on accident but brought everything else. AJ swam alone for a while as I watched. Jordyn came home and let me borrow a suit. We stayed there till close to 7pm.

6/14 I got up with AJ, fed him, and did some laundry. I took him on a walk to the park and let him play for a while. I showered, tidied, got Beans & Brews, and cleaned floors. I got AJ down for a nap, and it took him an hour to fall asleep. Matthew worked on the fridge/freezer. We went to the park in Lehi to have dinner with Matthew's family. We stayed for Evelyn to open her mission call on Zoom, about 8:20. We got AJ to bed and went to bed as well without watching a show.

6/15 I got up early for the gym, and it felt really good! Work was busy with new hire orientation. I picked up AJ. It was a stressful evening as all the meat in our freezer was defrosted when we got home. We borrowed coolers from my mom and our neighbor, and borrowed freezer space from our neighbor. We did AJ's bath and bed time. Matthew left to Provo to pick up his friend from the airport.

6/16 I got up for the gym again since I wasn't sure I could do it on Wednesday morning. AJ had tubes put in his ears. Matthew took him up to the U at 7am. It went well, but it was a hard day for AJ--very sleepy and emotional. I had a pretty quiet day at work. We did bed time. My mom came to spend the night to take me to the hospital.

6/17 I was up early for a walk. Mom took me to the U to check in for surgery at 7am. Sinus surgery was at 8:30. I woke up with bad shakes. We left the hospital at about 11am and went to Sidecar Doughnuts and Raw Bean, then home. I saw texts from Matthew that our daycare lady had a family emergency so AJ had to go to his old daycare. I started watching the series finale of Outlander. Matthew got home shortly after from Dan's funeral in Orem and took the rest of the food out of the fridge to return it to the store. Our neighbor let us borrow his truck, and Jim came to help load it. Matthew picked a new fridge, and Eli and Jim came to help get it inside. We let it sit a couple of hours before plugging it in. When we plugged it in, it was making a frequent whooshing sound. We were happy to see the water dispenser was working though. I cooked up some Salmon from the freezer and ate about 4pm. I picked up AJ about 4:45, and he asked for boba, so we went to Ding Tea. I heated up some dinner for AJ. We were in the backyard for a little while, and we got AJ an ice cream from the ice cream truck. Matthew finished bath time and bed time. He went to get us some food since I was hungry, and he hadn't eaten. We watched Peaky Blinders.

Fridge transport

6/18 I got up early to walk. Work was a little busy just with some meetings and tasks. I dropped off our ballots at Sandy City Hall. Then I picked up AJ. I made broccoli from the garden, salmon for us (shrimp for AJ), and instant potatoes. I watered in the back and jumped on the trampoline with AJ. Matthew was trying to figure out what was wrong with the new fridge. I had a recliner dropped off for Matthew for Father's Day, from Facebook Marketplace. It was a little crustier than I planned. We did bed time and got to bed somewhat early.

6/19 I was up early for the gym at 5. I worked a half day. I went to the Dollar Tree, the post office, and Five Below. I had my physical in Draper. I got groceries at Smith's in Draper. Matthew and I put the food away. We went to get AJ and used a gift card for dinner at Chili's. AJ was a handful.

6/20 AJ woke me up early again. We left for the pool but turned back around so Matthew could be there for a fridge drop off. So we will have a backup fridge in the basement just in case. We went to the pool with Kevin and his kids. We had chicken, garden zucchini, and watermelon for dinner. So good.

6/21 AJ woke me up pretty early. We signed Matthew's cards and put together his gifts. I started laundry. We drove up to Foothill Village to try JD Flannel donuts. I posted Matthew's Father's Day video. We woke him up about 9:15. We Face Timed my dad. We went on a walk to the park. Matthew worked on real estate stuff. We went to Ying's Thai for dinner; it was delicious as usual. We got Sub Zero for dessert after. We did bath and bed time and watched Peaky  Blinders.

Father's Day gifts

6/22 I got up to walk before work. It was new hire orientation again which went well. It just always feels like a long day. I got cat food and picked up AJ. I heated up our dinner. We watered in the backyard and returned our neighbor's coolers to her. We did bed time.

6/23 I was up early for the gym with my coach. Work felt pretty busy--lots of tasks. I picked up AJ then picked up a swim floatie for him from Facebook Marketplace. I heated up our dinner. I got a bill from my stupid dentist appointment that I had, which put me in a bad mood. I did AJ's bath and bed time. We watched Peaky Blinders.

6/24 was a busy day at work with popcorn, a Sam's Club run, a translation project, and a meeting. I picked up AJ, and we went to Itto Sushi because Matthew worked at the kitchen. I watered the garden by hand to reduce water use. I did bed time with AJ, but he didn't fall asleep until super late. I watched Call the Midwife and went to bed.

6/25 I was up early for the gym. Work was fairly busy. I got AJ, brought in the garbage cans, watered my neighbor's flowers, made AJ's dinner and a sandwich for myself. Matthew got a dolly, and we cleaned the fridge we got off Marketplace to put in the basement as a backup. I did bath and bed time. We got the fridge down the stairs and watched Peaky Blinders.

6/26 I got up and walked a mile before work. I worked a half day. I got a little bit of gas, got groceries, and went home. I did the cleaning. I picked up AJ. We went to buy a ShopVac off of KSL. After dinner we went to Midvale to try Blacksmith Ice Cream. It did not disappoint.

6/27 We went to the gym as a family. Matthew and I got gas at Smith's, and he went to Discount Tire, and I took AJ home. While AJ napped we watched Peaky Blinders. After his nap we went to see Jacque's new store. We went to Taylorsville Dayzz, set up a spot by the stage, ate some food, did some rides, and watched fireworks. We got AJ to bed at 11pm, and we were in bed just before midnight.

Ferris wheel

6/28 AJ and I went on a walk to the park. After I showered, AJ and I went to the Aquarium. After that we went to lunch at First Watch, and Matthew met us there. I took AJ to Walmart for a few things. I cleaned car seats and vacuumed my back seat. I watered the garden and Lois's garden. A guy came to fix our fridge but didn't fix it at all. I reassembled the car seats. We did bath and bed time and watched Dutton Ranch.

Snack break at the aquarium

6/29 I got up early for the gym. Work was busy with new hire orientation. I got AJ, and we picked up the meal deal from Harmon's. I marinated the chicken and sauteed broccoli; Matthew grilled the chicken and pineapple. We did bed time and talked afterward.

6/30 I got up early for the gym. Work was fairly busy. I picked up AJ, heated up our dinner, and we went to Magnolia Bakery in Holladay. We got AJ in the bath and into bed. I watered the garden. We watched Peaky Blinders.
