May in Review

5/1 I went on a run. After working a half day, I went to Costco and got a four pack of plants - strawberry (1), bell peppers, chamomile, and zucchini. I started some laundry and cleaning. I got a hair cut at Cameo College. I picked up AJ. We jumped on the trampoline.

5/2 I went to the gym in the morning. Then I worked my tail off in the yard finishing tearing out the weeds. We went to the Milkshake Factory for their grand opening. We stopped at Walmart to get some plants. I got three kinds of tomatoes, a strawberry plant (2), marigolds, a broccoli plant, and lots of seeds. We also bought a blueberry plant, and a honeysuckle plant. I got everything but the blueberries and honeysuckle into the ground that evening.

5/3 we went to breakfast at Penny Ann's since we had a BOGO. Then we went to Kuwahara's for some plants, and stopped at Megaplex for fresh popcorn. I planted what we got at Kuwahara - another strawberry plant (3), a cucumber plant, and a yellow squash. Plus out front I planted a lavender and a perennial.

5/4 I got up early for the gym. It was a busy day with new hire orientation and then setting up for the Wellness Fair. I got AJ and heated up some dinner for us. I did MASS homework.

5/5 I got up and went for a walk before work. It was a busy day with our Wellness Fair at work, and it was really great. I picked up AJ, made Sukhi's Indian food for dinner, and did some MASS homework. Matthew did bath time, and we did bed time.

5/6 I got up early for the gym with my trainer. Work was pretty busy with popcorn day. I picked up AJ, and we went to Itto Sushi for happy hour. We got treats at Kneaders afterward. I read a book with AJ before I let him turn on the TV. He wanted to jump on the trampoline before bed. I did MASS homework and helped with bed time. He tickled Matthew's nose with a feather, making him "sneeze," and AJ was guffawing. It was the best.

5/7 I got up to walk before work. I left home early to get blood work done. I was busy at work getting ready for being out for surgery. I picked up AJ and went to Sandy to get malasadas from a Facebook marketplace lady who reached out. AJ was very dysregulated after falling asleep in the car and was a mess basically the entire evening until he got out of the bath. Then he didn't fall asleep until after 9:30. While Matthew handled him, I took my MASS exam. I passed with a 96% and renewed my CPT for another two years with 22 days to spare. I was stressing.

5/8 I got up and did cardio before work. I stayed late at work for a meeting since I needed to leave early the following Monday--worked out to make up the time. I went to Smith's and started the laundry and cleaning. I went to Dollar Tree and picked up AJ. I heated up his dinner. I cleaned the floors and ate. I worked on my mom's Mother's Day gift. Matthew and I finished watching The Whale after AJ went to sleep.

5/9 AJ woke us up. I started laundry and went to the gym. I picked up our rain barrel. I made a shake. I took a long shower, painted my toe nails, and went to Village Baker to get myself some lunch. I also stopped at Thirst and went to Sam's Club for gas. We hung out at home. We left to try to drop off Mother's Day items to our moms, but neither of them was home. We got gas and took AJ to Grandpa's Pond park. We had burgers and corn on the cob for dinner. We spent time outside.

5/10 was Mother's Day. It was a lovely day. AJ came into our room, and Matthew took him out to let me sleep. Matthew made breakfast--Black Bear Diner pancakes, Million Dollar Bacon, potatoes, and eggs. I went on a walk. I went to pick up a lamp for the living room, and went downtown to Sound Brew. I got home, and the boys were on their way out, so I joined them to go to Dutch Bros. Matthew tried to get him down for a nap, but he refused. So we gave up and drove down to Orem to drop off flowers for Dianne. We stopped at Pink Box Donuts in American Fork, and then Lehi to drop of my mom's gift. We went to Maria's Mexican Restaurant for dinner where we massively over ate. We spent some time in the backyard, then did bath and bed time. I moved our caterpillar cocoons to the butterfly net.

5/11 I woke up early for the gym. I had new hire orientation again. I had an ENT appointment at the U at 4pm. I was able to stop at home briefly to eat, then I drove to a meeting at our HOA Management company office at 6pm. I got home after 8pm and loved on AJ a little bit. My mom came to pick me up. I packed up to go. We stopped at McDonald's to get me food since I had to fast before surgery. I did an antiseptic shower at my grandma's and realized I forgot my pajamas.

5/12 I got up early to drink Body Armor Lyte and went back to bed for a little while. I got up to walk around my grandma's neighborhood. I did another antiseptic shower. My mom dropped me off at the hospital for surgery at 7:20am. Surgery was shortly after 9am. Things went well, but he found a lot of endometriosis. One tube is completely blocked. My mom picked me up around 1pm. She drove me through Roxberry. I reclined on my grandma's couch and napped a little bit with an ice pack on my belly. My postnasal drip cough proved problematic with incisions and belly swelling. I also had a lot of round ligament pain. Mom took me home about 7:15, and I had to have Matthew rush to Walmart to get my prescriptions before the pharmacy closed. Thankfully he made it. I watched Outlander and went to bed.

5/13 I was up around 7. I made AJ food and got him ready for daycare. I read my book most of the day--finished it that evening. I did do a couple of slow treadmill walks to move some gas out of my body. I put clothes away and took a long shower and washed my hair. AJ came home very dysregulated, so it was a rough evening. I made shrimp, pasta, and veggies for dinner. We did bed time. I watched Outlander.

5/14 I was up before 7 with AJ. I made his breakfast, did Duo Lingo, and tidied our house for my friend Natalie to come over. She brought Beans & Brews and hung out till around noon, which was so nice of her. I went to WaveMax to wash our comforter. I went to Savers for clothes for AJ, and got him some books. I stopped at Ding Tea, did stuff on the computer, picked up AJ, and got a car wash. I was sore but felt pretty good most of the day. I fed AJ, did bath and bed time. We watched Peaky Blinders.

5/15 I was up early. I fed AJ, walked 1.5 miles, showered, and went to Cultured Cafe to try it out. I started a new book. I got groceries at Smith's, unloaded, and started laundry. I took a nap. I woke up hungry so I got Taco Bell and Thirst. I picked up AJ. We stopped at Village Baker. I fed AJ. We spent most of the evening outside as Matthew figured out the sprinklers. We went to Sweetaly. AJ was a hot mess as he was late for bed time. We watched Dutton Ranch.

5/16 we got up around 7 and snuggled AJ. I made him breakfast. I went on a walk with AJ then got ready for AJ's daycare friend's birthday party in Herriman. After the party we got gas and stopped at my grandma's so I could get a jacket. We went to the Dough Show. It was cold and windy, which stunk, and AJ was grumpy due to no nap. We filled our popcorn bucket. We stopped at ACE to pick up some dirt and a tool to turn on the sprinklers. We spent a lot of time in the yard weeding and watering. I finished my audiobook.

5/17 felt like a really long day, maybe because of the gloom, and also I just was really tired. AJ came and snuggled in our bed. I fed him. I went to Hidden Peaks Coffee Roasters and read my book. I took a nap and then took AJ to the park in Sandy. I got Dutch for me and Matthew. AJ fell asleep in the car and woke up very grumpy. I will miss a lot of things about him being little, but these late afternoon naps with hours-long meltdowns afterward are a hard pass. I walked on the treadmill. Matthew made dinner for us, and I did bath time. We did bed time and watched Peaky Blinders. I put away my clothes.

5/18 I got up to walk on the treadmill. I grabbed a Starbs and came back home to work in the office. I was able to get caught up pretty quickly and did a couple more walks during the day. Our first butterfly came out of the cocoon, which I was so excited about--like a little child. I heated up dinner for us. AJ was in a really happy mood all evening. We went outside to look for snails. After bed time, we watched Peaky Blinders.

5/19 I woke up naturally before my alarm and walked outside. I picked up a snail for AJ and brought it home so he could see it. I grabbed a Starbs and came back home to work in the office. I had a meeting with our ESL teacher on Teams, and I met with my fertility doctor virtually. I picked up AJ. We got Ding Tea, had dinner, and did bath and bed time. Matthew was catering. I watched Outlander.

5/20 I again woke up just before my alarm and walked on our treadmill. I went back to the office, and it was a busy day. I had to go to another building to get popcorn supplies, and popcorn is an all day affair. I also had a 1:1 and a webinar. I picked up AJ, and we had dinner at Itto Sushi. We spent our evening in the backyard watering, with AJ finding snails and worms and rolly polies. After bed time we watched Peaky Blinders.

5/21 I woke up before my alarm again and walked outside. We had our ESL celebration at work, but it was otherwise pretty quiet. I picked up AJ. After we got home, we let the butterflies go in the front yard; the 5th and last one had emerged. AJ was sad and wanted to keep them. I heated up dinner, found him a snail outside, and did bath and bed time. Matthew was at the kitchen. I watched Outlander.

5/22 I woke up at 6 to walk outside. I worked a half day, picked up AJ, stopped in Orem to get lunch,  and drove down to Snow College for our niece's graduation. The southbound traffic for the holiday weekend was nuts, so it took us 3 hours to get there. And my air conditioning is pretty unreliable, so that was a fun time. We ate dinner and hung out in Monroe. We stayed until about 5:50 and got home at 8:20, and my air conditioning was even worse on the way home. I got AJ to bed.

AJ's cousin gave him this Monster High doll. He is obsessed.

5/23 I got up and got groceries before Matthew had to leave for catering.

5/24 I let Matthew sleep in and took AJ on my walk. He got to play at the elementary school. I worked in the yard a lot. I emptied out some planters. I planted three pots of flowers for the front yard. I finished weeding the border of the garden in the back, and planted some low grow flowers, and sunflowers along the border. I started and finished listening to David Archuleta's memoir.

Planters I emptied

5/25 Memorial Day was a really good day. I made AJ breakfast and went downstairs to do a body weight workout. I did a little bit of yard work. I showered, and we got to the pool around 11:30am. We stayed until 1:15 when we left to go have lunch with my mom, grandma, and aunts/uncles/cousins at a park. We went and got my car and got gas. I stopped at Harmon's for the meal deal. We made burgers, zucchini, corn on the cob, and had macaroni salad and fruit. It was a really lovely day. After getting AJ to bed, we watched Peaky Blinders.

5/26 I woke up early to walk on the treadmill. I had a dentist appointment at 7am, but unfortunately wasn't able to actually get the cleaning done. They weren't very efficient. Work was really quiet. I worked on AJ's newest photo album from age 3-4. I picked AJ up and made orange chicken, rice, and veggies for dinner. We were in the backyard in the evening. AJ was really sweet, repeatedly telling me and Matthew that he loves us. I also recorded him talking at bedtime. I love him to pieces. Matthew and I watched Peaky Blinders.

5/27 I got up to do a basement workout, light weight. Work was pretty busy--popcorn day, Sam's Club run, HR meeting, etc. I picked up AJ and took him to the park. Matthew brought pizza and met us there. We stopped at our condo clubhouse for our neighbor's graduation party. We did bath and bed time. I watched Outlander.

5/28 I woke up to walk again and had another 7am dentist appointment for my cleaning. Work was fairly quiet. I picked up AJ and heated up dinner. We spent time in the backyard--I planted some flowers in the left garden. After a late bedtime for AJ, we watched Peaky Blinders.

5/29 I got up to do a home workout. I worked a half day, picked up AJ, and got groceries. I put them away real fast, then we left for AJ's ENT appointment at Primary Children's. We went to Sidecar Donuts, and then Raw Bean. We got home, and I started getting things ready for the evening. Jim came to watch AJ, and we drove out to Tooele for our lantern festival. Unfortunately, the weather got really bad, so it was canceled till the next night. We went to Sweetaly Gelato and Trader Joe's. We watched Peaky Blinders.

5/30 I got up about 7am and made AJ breakfast. I did a walk on the treadmill. I got Starbucks and went to the HOA mulch event at our condo community. I was so happy with the turnout. We worked our butts off spreading mulch. Matthew and AJ came later and helped. We stayed until 2pm. I did a load of laundry. I worked in the yard a bit, showered, and fed AJ dinner. My mom came to watch AJ for our second try at the lantern festival. It was beautiful. We got home about 11:15.

SO MUCH RAIN!

5/31 I got to sleep in, but it wasn't restful really. I did four loads of laundry throughout the day. AJ and I dug for worms in the garden and jumped on the trampoline. We went on a family walk to the elementary school where AJ played. I went to Walmart and Dutch Bros. AJ took a nap. I made guacamole and cut up pineapple. I prepped my lunches and supplements. I made AJ's dinner. Matthew put on Matilda. We ate dinner in the backyard. I planted an onion and three types of flowers in containers. We did bed time. After some more chores we watched Dutton Ranch.
