LMAO!!! Not only do I share your day from hell sentiments (and just FYI... tomorrow will be worse!), but I share your... ummm... like... for this guy! I sure thought his voice reminded me of the lead singer from Pearl Jam.
Good Visiting Matthew's brother. We went on August 3 to visit Matthew's brother down in Monroe. It was a haul to get down there, but it was good to finally see their place and spend some time there. AJ loved it and ran himself ragged. We didn't get to go to the hot spring like we planned since it was so hot out. But still was a good time seeing family. Teaching ESL. I cannot even begin to explain. I wrote a post about it on my LinkedIn. I've had so much good feedback, from my manager, from my coworker, and from the students themselves. It has been such a great experience so far, and I feel so lucky to get to do it. My classroom Growth. It is SO FUN to take pictures of seedlings at the beginning of the month and see where they are at the end of the month. I planted perennials in the front yard, and they're so much bigger now. I love watching my carrot and lettuce seedlings come up. It is so exciting. Babies coming up at the start of the month End of the month, so ...
Good California and the beach. I stubbornly insisted on a beach trip during our California trip over the 4th of July weekend. There was a lot of noise in my ear about traffic and crowds. But we went to Crystal Cove, arriving about 9am, and it wasn't bad AT ALL. The hike down and back up with a three year old whose flip flops kept sliding off was a little challenging. But otherwise it was an awesome time. AJ loved it. Memories made. Garden. It's fun to have AJ help me round up ripe tomatoes almost daily. He loves it, and he loves to eat them, I think mostly because we grew them! We’ve had a lot of cucumbers but sadly they haven’t tasted very good. Two jalapenos are coming in, and I’ve attempted another round of squash that has brought up seedlings already. We will see. I’m excited to get some things planted for fall harvest – spinach, lettuce, and carrots. The tomatoes are now bending over the tops of the cages Freebies. Our company has a "swap shop" online, and s...
My neck hurts. My neck always hurts. My back hurts too. I’ve accepted the constant stiffness and discomfort as a normal part of my life. On an annual basis (or when I find an especially amazing deal that won’t put a huge dent in my bank account), I get a massage. Massages are so amazing. I like the deep tissue kind, where the therapist uses her smooth forearm or elbow to relieve the ache. The slow, relaxing kind that hurts so good—when she moves her hands in repetitive, long motions that affect only that part, leaving the rest of me completely still. The kind where I know the therapist knows what she is doing, can identify my problem areas, and get rid of them in an unhurried way. The toxins built up by stress are all escaping, leaving me like new. When beautiful music or nature sounds are playing in the dimly lit room, and the aromatherapy massage oil makes me feel like all is right in the world. What could be bad about any of this? I bought one such deal last Octob...
