I Said Yes!

On Sunday, Matthew asked me on a date for Monday. He said he really wanted pizza, and wanted to go to Settebello.  Settebello is where we had one of our first dates in 2019. I had a free birthday pizza there. He picked me up at my work downtown, and we went to Settebello. After dinner, we sat in front of my work in his car for about three hours just talking about life and dating and things.  So when he wanted to get dinner there, and told me to look nice, I wondered if he might be asking a question that night. But after dinner, we didn't go to South Temple Avenue. We went to Normal Club ice cream. Then he drove us up to Mt. Olympus Trailhead where the lookout was supposed to be pretty awesome. When we got there, it was all under construction. There were concrete barriers along the side of the road, a Honey Bucket, huge ditches, and it was a hot mess.  The sunset was nice, so we ate our ice cream and stood outside for a while and took a few pictures. He drove me back to his work whe

Friendly Neighbors

On Sunday, Matthew and I went on a walk. I usually go on a half hour walk (or two) on Sundays, and this time he came with me. When we were at our halfway point to turn back around, an older couple out on their back patio stopped us to chit chat.  First it was about the house that was for sale across the street. She yelled out that it was $399, but they should just bump up the penny and call it $400. Matthew and she went back and forth for a minute, and we tried to wish them a good day. But then they called out and asked us if we wanted tomatoes. She initially apologized for one of her dogs yapping, saying the dog can't hear her when she tells him to shut up. But! If we put our hands backward to the fence and let him lick us, he will stop. He both licked us and barked at us, while the lady's husband Gail picked some tomatoes for us.  We stood there waiting for tomatoes and got a big long story about her dog. Her daughter told her that her dog was getting fat, so this lady kindly

July in Review

On Wednesday, July 1, we had our Sugar Cookie Taste off. I also had a dentist appointment. No cavities, yay me!  July 2, we left to Mesquite, NV. We didn't get in until 11:30 (Utah time). We had quite the experience trying to dine at the Virgin River cafe. We decided after a few minutes waiting that McDonald's would be a better option. That tells you what our impressions were of the Virgin River.  Friday, July 3, we left a little later than we wanted and got to my dad's a little after 2pm. We hung out and talked and got Waba Grill for dinner. I was dumb and ordered from a different location than the one that's close by.  July 4, I went on a run and did a workout. We got donuts from Class One. I really liked their Madagascar vanilla. Their buttermilk was decent. The maple bar was awful. But I was just grateful they had donuts left and that they were open on the 4th! We hung out and talked. Jason and Kellie got there a little after 2. I made corn on the cob and salad (fro
