February in Review

2/1 I had locked access to my bedroom so AJ had to go to his dad's room in the morning. I walked on the treadmill and listened to Tim Curry's memoir Vagabond . We went to Sugar House to get Sidecar Donuts--huckleberry, butter and salt, maple bacon, cookies and cream, cinnamon crumb, and old fashioned. So good. It was a low-key day. AJ took a nap. Matthew took him to see Zootopia 2, and I went to see Standout. It was really good. Matthew made burgers for dinner. I did bath time and bed time, but Matthew finished it out. We watched Shrinking.  2/2 I struggled to get myself to the gym, but I did it. I had new hire orientation at work, but we had a no-show, so it was just me and one solo new hire. I dropped off our rent check. I picked up AJ. Matthew made dinner for the two of them because I wasn't hungry. I went back to work to get my laptop. I did bed time with AJ. We watched Shrinking.  2/3 I got up early for the gym again, still dealing with a pinched nerve in my neck. I wo...

February GBOMB

Good Sinus. I had an appointment with otolaryngology at the U on Feb 3. It was a much longer appointment than I expected, mostly because the drive up and back from the U is a haul. But I was prescribed a nasal spray I hadn't been given before, and it basically INSTANTLY   helped. I used it on February 4 at work and barely had to blow my nose all day. It has not improved my postnasal drip that I cough up all day. But to have the front end be significantly better so quickly was so encouraging. I obviously don't want to use nose spray for the rest of my life, but knowing this exists for things like exercise or intimacy or even sleep, when I don't want to deal with mucus--is such a relief.  Closing early. We were able to close on our home on February 20. It worked out for the best because I didn't realize the waiting period between signing and getting keys was so long. Signed Friday, funded Monday, "keys" late Wednesday night. We were able to get our storage empti...

January GBOMB

Good Acupressure mat. Matthew got me an acupressure mat for Christmas. It hurts in the first few minutes but ends up feeling so good at the end. I do feel like it helps with general back and neck pain. I am hoping it helps with the sensitivity I feel in some areas like my glutes.  Home buying. We have been casually looking at homes, but we weren't in a rush. Then our landlord said he wanted to sell, so we decided to look more intently. The home I had loved and admired on Zillow since September was still on the market. And the same day we looked at it, we put in an offer. The next day, we were under contract. I am so grateful and excited. There's a lot more to this story, and it is probably worth its own post. But it seems like so many things worked in our favor to make this happen. Manifestation. Divine intervention. All the things.  Raise and promotion. The day we went under contract on our new home, I was told I was getting a promotion/title change and a 5.89% increase. Agai...

January 1 I literally sat on the couch all day except to do yoga. My nausea and bloating were SO bad. I think it was from eating poorly on NYE. Matthew basically took care of all the things. We watched a ton of movies, including Fantastic Beasts.  January 2 I went to the gym and hit some PRs, which was exciting. I took AJ to Primary Children's ENT where they suggested tubes but respected a wait and see approach with the fluid remaining in his left ear. We have a follow up scheduled and hope not to have more issues before then. After his appointment we went to Smith's and Starbucks. We came home, put away groceries, and I put AJ in his room. He didn't nap but did stay in there so I could clean and do laundry. After that we went to pick up dry cleaning, got Max some food at the vet, and went to Petco. I ordered some pho. AJ and I ate dinner. Matthew got home, and we did bath and bed time. AJ's behavior was rough due to no nap.  January 3 I made AJ breakfast and went to th...
