January GBOMB

Good My new job . There are just way too many good things about it to list. But a few things worth mentioning are my awesome manager and team. The company culture. Awesome benefits. And just being seen for what I bring to the table; I've already been asked to present on the 4 Tendencies to some of our HR team. I am just really grateful to be there. Sunshine collective . A friend of mine started a sunshine collective in November with a challenge to get outside 100 days from November to March. I got outside every single day in January, and I am really proud of that. Red light . I got myself a red light panel that came a little bit before Christmas. I've been very consistently using it at night. Then I went and bought a much smaller portable panel to use because getting both panels from Hooga was still cheaper than just ONE from Lumebox. I am interested to see how it feels when spring comes around, if I will feel a really big shift like I usually do, or if it won't be as drama...

1/1 I walked and took AJ outside. I did some tax stuff for my new job. I donated plasma. We went as a family to Red Lobster for dinner and then got treats at Paris Baguette afterward. 1/2 I lifted weights. I took AJ to the playground. I cleared off my phone and started drafting some goals and reflecting on the previous year. I did some Scholastic grading for payment. 1/3 I did leg day and figured out our new Robo vac. I got lunch at Itto Sushi with Kristen and AJ. We went on a walk. I did some more grading. I had some laptop troubles 1/4 I walked, and did cleaning and laundry. We went grocery shopping as a family. It was a pretty low-key day. 1/5 I went for a walk outside, went to the bank and Dutch Bros, and spent some time on finances. I did some copy editing. We took AJ to the aquarium for the first time. Matthew made lasagna. 1/6 I took AJ to daycare, went to the gym to do squats, did some stuff for unemployment, and did a bunch of other things at the computer. I went to the movies...

2024 Reflection and 2025 Goals

Image
I went through and read this post from a year ago. I'm feeling pretty good about how I showed up for myself in 2024.  Here were my 2024 goals: Spirit -Set aside 2 minutes at bedtime each night to breathe and do gratitude.  I actually feel good about this. My streak got ruined in June, but I tried to pick back up and be consistent. Daily gratitude has happened with ease.  Hobbies -Visit 1 new restaurant each month. Make a list by January 31.  I never did make a list, but I definitely tried more than 12 new places! I finally sat down a few weeks ago to write all my Yelp reviews.  -Take AJ on 1-2 hikes when the weather warms up. Choose locations and schedule the hikes by March 31.  I did not do this. I didn't make the time to plan anything and was worried AJ wouldn't be able to walk a route, and that I didn't have a pack to carry him in. I got in my head about it and didn't make it happen.  -Read 5-10 minutes of a paperback book at bedtime.  I did t...

December GBOMB

Good Festivities. We did a LOT in December. I feel proud of that. We went to the zoo twice, one of the times was for Zoo Lights. We went to Christmas in Color. We went to Luminaria. We walked around and looked at lights in my dad's neighborhood. It just was fun to revel in the season.  Job offer. Need I say more? I got a job offer three weeks to the day after losing my job unexpectedly. I worked really hard, applying to 45 jobs in total, but honestly it just was a really good match with really good timing. I'm excited to work for an awesome company and an awesome manager.  Free time. Having time off between my job offer and my start date is just... exactly what I need. I'm loving not setting my alarm, not feeling rushed. I still feel busy like I have a lot of things I need to do (copy editing and Scholastic scoring, for one), but I'm loving not having anywhere to be.  California. Christmas in California was just really nice. It is hard watching my son in another environ...

12/1 AJ let us sleep in. I took him on a freezing walk. I fed him and showered so we could go see Moana 2 with Mariah and Oliver. After Moana we came home and fed AJ lunch. I worked on my November blog. We went to the zoo from 3:30-4:45; it was incredible. It was basically empty, and the lions were active and roaring. We got to see the baby gorilla up close in the inside enclosure. Matthew made pad see ewe while I got my photos off my phone. I did Duo Lingo. I did bath and bed time. I worked on my GBOMB.  12/2 AJ woke up a few times so I slept in. I still got a lift in. I took AJ to daycare and got Dutch Bros. I filed for unemployment, browsed jobs, and had a virtual interview at noon. I had another meeting at 2:00. I applied to three jobs. I picked up AJ and we met his dad at Costa Vida in Draper. We went to Draper city Park so AJ could meet Santa. I picked up shakes on the way home and Matthew did bedtime. Just a selfie because I liked my hair.  12/3 I did leg day and droppe...
