April GBOMB

Good Weather. I love spring. Days like today (April 29) when it is 67 and sunny with clean air? Nothing better. I don't think I'd ever get tired of this weather if it happened every day. But then I love a good rainy and cloudy day to break it all up. I do not love the wind. So if that could go away, I'd be the happiest.  Work. I feel like I am in the swing of things. I know what my job is and what's expected, and feel like I can do it without much help. I'm still working on my TESOL and have started to help with new hire orientation which is fun.  New opportunities. This house rental we're moving into is a major downsize for us. But I'm trying to focus on it as a stepping stone, and find the good things about it, like a yard! I really am excited for a fire pit and a deck. (Does it trump the loss of a bathroom, living room space, a laundry room, two storage areas, lots of kitchen cabinet space, counter space/mounted microwave, a shelf above the laundry, etc.?...

4/1 I was up before six to walk and do mobility. Work was pretty slow and quiet. My insurance finally kicked in on this day. I picked up AJ, went to Smith's, and met Matthew for dinner at McAllister's. I did a lot of tidying so I could send pictures of our condo to a friend who may want to rent it. Matthew did bath and bedtime. 4/2 I was up at 4:50 for squat day. I went to Draper to get donuts for my boss for her birthday. We had a nacho bar at work. I picked up AJ. I made spaghetti for dinner. I cleared the photos and videos off my phone for March. It was otherwise a normal evening at home. I did bedtime. 4/3 I had a mishap with my alarm but woke up at 5:20. I did bench presses. Work was pretty quiet again except that I got to go to Sam's Club with my coworker. Matthew picked up eggs from my friend Natalie's chickens and also grabbed me a slice of cake from the Peppered Vine so I could try it out (it was disappointing). I picked up AJ. We ate leftovers. I did bath, and...

March GBOMB

Good Functional Medicine . I had blood work done this month for Vitalize Hormone and Wellness, and then had my appointment with a nurse practitioner to go over said blood work. While she wasn't as warm or caring as I had hoped, and drew hard lines like, "Dairy is inflammatory," I still found it helpful to just have someone who understands a full picture and is listening to my concerns. Plus just to see that some things really aren't concerning, and I am doing a lot of things right. She was not pushy about selling supplements, just wanted to make sure I use good quality ones. She also was willing to prescribe me progesterone, which I'm hoping at a minimum will help level out my short cycle/early spotting.  Housing . I randomly decided to peruse rentals in our area last week to see what rates were like for similar spaces. In my first very casual search, I saw a house for rent just east from our condo across Trax. I called Matthew within the hour to let him know that...

3/1 was a good day. I went to the gym and went on a walk outside. I got photos off my phone. I posted my blogs. I did a client check in. I had a doula interview (and was hired)! We took AJ to a park he hasn't been to before. We went to The Pie for dinner afterward. It was just a normal evening at home. I did bath and bed time. 3/2 I woke up with a shiner because I bumped my eye on my dresser in the middle of the night while sleep walking. AJ and I went on a walk to the park. I donated plasma and picked up my birthday popcorn. We went to my grandma's house and had a time pressured evening at home. 3/3 I woke up feeling like I got no sleep at all so I skipped my workout. Work was really busy in the morning. It was a pretty normal day where I picked AJ up and did all our normal evening things at home. Matthew and I watched Lost. 3/4 I got up at 5 to deadlift. Apparently AJ woke up at 5:30, which is fine in the context of DST, but he went to bed so late the night before. Work was q...
