5/1 I went to the gym for squats and hit a PR at 170lb. I started exploring oregano for my sinus issue. Matthew started taking things over to the new house. I stopped by the storage unit. I continued packing the house and did bath and bed time.  5/2 I went on a walk. I took some things to the new house after work in five or six trips while AJ was at daycare. Matthew picked up pizza. I packed all evening and did bath and bed time.  5/3 was moving day, so I did not go to the gym. I took my bed apart. The U-Haul place we used didn't give us the dolly that I ordered, which was frustrating. Thankfully, we had a lot of unexpected help with the loading of the U-Haul (but they vanished for unloading, sadly). We realized in the heat of the day that the new house didn't have A/C, AND the swamp cooler was broken. There are faulty and loose electrical outlets throughout the house. The power for the clothes dryer was a three prong instead of four, so Matthew had to play electrician and fig...

Good Memorial Day. The whole weekend actually, was just really good. I was in the yard a LOT. I'm grateful to have a yard. We went to the movies. We went to the pool. It just was a really good weekend. I'm grateful for my little family.  A yard. The best (maybe one of the only good) thing about the house we moved into this month is the yard. I have spent so many hours out there preparing and planting and watering. I hope we get lots of tomatoes and other things. We only bought ONE broccoli plant, one cucumber plant, one zucchini plant, and one jalapeno plant--best not to spend money if we're going to kill everything. But I just love being outside. I love AJ being outside. It's been so good for me.  Renters. We have renters. We have a deposit. We're waiting for June rent. But really just grateful we have something for the next year.  The condo. It looks incredible. We had the laundry room tiled. We had common areas and the hallway bathroom repainted. We had the cabin...

For My Mom

Parents aren't perfect. I think that's one of the hardest realizations for a child reaching adulthood. Your whole life these people who created you, fed you, kept you alive, and took care of you, you just assume that they have everything figured out. They're grown ups. Then you reach adulthood, maybe the same age as they were when they had you, and you realize you don't know anything, so they for sure didn't either.  Then you have your own kid(s) and realize how hard it all is to juggle and figure out.  And you learn more with every passing day that they were just doing the best they could. Especially your mom.  Two years ago, I was in a doula training at the University of Utah. I was a little over a year postpartum. My period had been back for about 6 months with an absolute vengeance. I was filling two period cups a day on my heaviest days.  During training I got up to use the restroom and realized I had bled past my cup, past my pad, through my underwear, through...

April GBOMB

Good Weather. I love spring. Days like today (April 29) when it is 67 and sunny with clean air? Nothing better. I don't think I'd ever get tired of this weather if it happened every day. But then I love a good rainy and cloudy day to break it all up. I do not love the wind. So if that could go away, I'd be the happiest.  Work. I feel like I am in the swing of things. I know what my job is and what's expected, and feel like I can do it without much help. I'm still working on my TESOL and have started to help with new hire orientation which is fun.  New opportunities. This house rental we're moving into is a major downsize for us. But I'm trying to focus on it as a stepping stone, and find the good things about it, like a yard! I really am excited for a fire pit and a deck. (Does it trump the loss of a bathroom, living room space, a laundry room, two storage areas, lots of kitchen cabinet space, counter space/mounted microwave, a shelf above the laundry, etc.?...

4/1 I was up before six to walk and do mobility. Work was pretty slow and quiet. My insurance finally kicked in on this day. I picked up AJ, went to Smith's, and met Matthew for dinner at McAllister's. I did a lot of tidying so I could send pictures of our condo to a friend who may want to rent it. Matthew did bath and bedtime. 4/2 I was up at 4:50 for squat day. I went to Draper to get donuts for my boss for her birthday. We had a nacho bar at work. I picked up AJ. I made spaghetti for dinner. I cleared the photos and videos off my phone for March. It was otherwise a normal evening at home. I did bedtime. 4/3 I had a mishap with my alarm but woke up at 5:20. I did bench presses. Work was pretty quiet again except that I got to go to Sam's Club with my coworker. Matthew picked up eggs from my friend Natalie's chickens and also grabbed me a slice of cake from the Peppered Vine so I could try it out (it was disappointing). I picked up AJ. We ate leftovers. I did bath, and...
