June in Review
6/1 I went on a walk and did yoga. We went to the Harry Potter Exhibition with my manager, her husband, and their daughter. It was super fun. Then we got lunch all together at Slackwater, which never disappoints. After we got home I went to the condo to clean. I finished the cabinets and drawers in the kitchen and also the oven. Matthew switched me, and got blinds installed and did some other things around the condo. I published my blogs for May and watched Lost.

6/2 I went to the gym for squats. Work was busy as I had a new hire orientation with just ONE person. Thankfully it wasn't too awkward. I picked up AJ, and we went to Walmart. It was a pretty normal evening at home. I did Face Time with both parents that evening. We watched Lost.
6/3 I got up to go on a walk; it was chilly! Work was super quiet. I finally decided and moved forward on an ESL assignment I had. I picked up AJ and went to Walmart AGAIN but this time to pick up a prescription. We stopped at the condo for some things, to grab the mail key, and to set out the old flush lights for a KSL person. Then I got home and realized Walmart gave me the wrong dose (using the most current prescription instead of the one I requested, which my doctor asked me to go back to). Otherwise, it was a pretty normal evening at home. I worked on my dad's Father's Day present. Matthew and I chatted about fertility and things.
6/4 I went to the gym for bench press plus squats. We had a work event put on by our CHRO called Disrupt HR down in Lehi, which was really cool. It was 10 speakers presenting a concept with a new lens as it relates to HR, but the presentations are only 5 minutes each. Some of the topics were bereavement policies, leveraging "B" players, positive exit interactions, women in the workforce, the various ways to assess performance, the personal touch of leadership, and radical workplace changes. I rode with a couple of coworkers, and we had Chick Fil A for lunch. After work I picked up AJ and went BACK to Walmart for the third day in a row to get the right prescription.
6/5 I went to the gym for deadlifts plus bench. I struggled through this workout--felt very drained and hungry. Work was good. I finally finished and submitted another lesson plan. I went to lunch with my coworkers at Sushi Ya. I bought tickets for the Borns concert in October. I met Brittney for dinner at Red Robin! I picked up some McDonald's cones for the boys and me. Matthew did bath time, and I did bed time.
6/6 I went on a walk. I worked a half day, including a 2 hour orientation with an employee who couldn't make it to the full length day. I picked up Donut Star for donut day, but not too many people were at work. I went home for a minute, mailed a gift at the post office, cleaned the fridge at the condo, and headed to Draper for my annual physical. I went home, ate, then picked up AJ. I went to Alpine to pick up Matthew to go to the Churro Festival in Lehi by my mom's house. It was pretty warm out there, and we had some unlimited churros which were great, of course. Matthew wasn't feeling well though so we went home. I did bath time, and Matthew did bed time.
6/7 I lifted weights and stopped at storage for a minute. I did laundry and cleaned the bathroom while AJ was getting a haircut with his dad. I got ready and went to Walmart to get a gift bag for my doula client and a birthday present for our friends' toddler. I went to my doula client's baby shower, stopped at Dutch, and went home. We hung out in the backyard together for a while. We took AJ to Uptown Jungle for the toddler birthday party. AJ loved it. I did bed time.

6/8 I feel like I was constantly busy this day, but with menial tasks that amount to nothing. I bet that's how all moms feel every day. I made cinnamon French toast and did my laundry. I did yoga. I took AJ to the pool for three hours while Matthew worked at the condo. I cleaned out the condo freezer and brought some more stuff home from the condo. I cleaned the floors at the house, gave AJ a shower, and showered myself because three hours at the pool is gross. Matthew did bed time.
6/9 I went to the gym for squats and worked from home. I even took a short break to go grab a free lunch from McAlister's. I was able to sell the mirrors and the tile I listed on Facebook marketplace! And then an old coworker at Alpine bought our waffle iron and George Foreman grill I have been trying to sell. So much for KSL classifieds. I also helped a friend of mine with pumping and breastfeeding.

Making this home more functional |
6/10 I went to the gym for bench presses (plus squats) and went to work. It was a fairly normal evening at home except Matthew was working on things at the condo while I was home with AJ. I made us dinner, and we spent time outside. I pulled weeds, and he played in the sprinklers.

6/11 I went to the gym for deadlifts (plus bench) and went to work. We had an HR meeting and a training workshop I coordinated. I also officially took over popcorn duty for our building. I picked up AJ, and Matthew worked at the condo again. I did bath and bed time.
6/12 I woke up naturally, watered in the front yard, and went on a short walk. Work was good. Finally finished my TESOL course and went to lunch at Dollie's with my manager. After making us dinner I took AJ to the pool while Matthew worked at the condo again. I did bath and bed time.
6/13 I slept in (6:30 is sleeping in). I had a half workday. I went home to change and grab some rags and cleaning stuff. I went to the gym for my first session with Taylor. I went to the condo to do some cleaning, which was a lot (bathroom sinks/counters, ceiling fan blades, balcony doors in and outside, baseboards, and swept. I set up the keypad for the tenants. I picked up stadium seats from Brooke. Matthew did bath and bed time.
6/14 I woke up, did Duo Lingo, watered the garden, went on a run and walk, and did more laundry and cleaning. I got ready and went to the condo to finish cleaning (floors). We went as a family to Walmart, Ulta, and Smith's. We did our key handoff with the new tenants. We went to Chili's for dinner. I did bath, and Matthew did bed time.
6/15 I learned that the brother of the new tenants (who is living there but not on the lease) and his son actually moved in a day early, showered, and stayed the night at my condo, which honestly still has me absolutely reeling two weeks later. I texted them about it and should've come down harder by charging them for the extra day and pointing out a breach of contract. I took AJ to get a kouign amann for Matthew, but Gourmandise wouldn't be open for another HOUR! Wild. We got Donut Star instead, and stopped at Dutch Bros and got gas. I wrapped Matthew's presents, went on a walk, and we went to see How to Train Your Dragon. It was SO good. I Face Timed my dad. We went to the pool. Matthew made dinner. I did bath, and Matthew did bed time. I went on a walk and reviewed my lifting program for the week.

6/16 I was up at 5 to lift in spite of a rough night. I started my TESOL business course. I went on a couple of walks at work. I picked up AJ, got pizza, ate, did dishes, did lunch prep, and spent time in the yard.
6/17 I woke up naturally at 6. I walked, stayed busy at work, but got more bad news about layoffs. Matthew met me at work, and we went to the Bees game with Moroni and Rachel and their baby. I made lunch for the next day and got to bed too late.
6/18 I was up at 5 to do bench and deadlift. Work was busy; I finished my TESOL assignment. It was popcorn day at work, and honestly just a super rough morning with a lot of hiccups. I picked up AJ, we went to Petco, stopped at Crave, and went home. Matthew made dinner. I did some weeding, Duo Lingo, and Instagram memories. Matthew did bath; I did bed time.
6/19 I slept in and put the snooze time in wrong on my alarm, so woke up late. Got blood work done before work. I worked in another building doing popcorn all day. I picked up AJ, got boba, moved our backyard owls, did Duo Lingo, and bath time. Matthew did bed time.
6/20 I was up at 6:15 and did a little bit of yoga. I worked a half day, came home, did laundry and cleaning, and met my coach at the gym. After more laundry and cleaning, I got groceries, picked up AJ, unloaded, and we went to Dave's Hot Chicken for dinner for a Yelp event. We took AJ to the condo playground. I did bath; Matthew did bed.
6/21 I was up at 6:45. I did Duo Lingo, laundry, went to the gym, and vacuumed. I took AJ to Paris Baguette, Walmart, Home Depot, the car wash, and Goodwill )to donate). I put up and pinned the kitchen curtains, put stuff away in the garage, and made guacamole. We went to Village Baker for dinner. I did bath and bed time. I put away dishes, talked with Matthew, and went to bed. It felt like a busy day.

6/22 I was up around 7, took AJ to Starbucks and the park because it was a really cool morning. I worked in the garden for a few minutes. We went as a family with our friends Brooke, Brett, and Kennedy to see Elio at the movies. I did more gardening and put up shiny tape. I went to my doula appointment. She had warned me they had no water, so by the time my appointment was done I was literally going to pee myself. I tried to use AJ's plastic urinal in the car. It was a disaster. And for whatever reason, AJ peed on the floor next to my bed. Not sure what that was about, but we've never had so many pee issues in a single day. Matthew made burgers. He did bath and bed time while I cleaned up and made AJ's breakfast and lunch for Monday.

6/23 I was up at 5 to squat and bench. Work was fine--updated laptops and things. I started a new e-book. I picked up AJ, did all our normal evening stuff. We watched Home on Netflix with AJ. Matthew did bath, and I did bed.
6/24 I woke up before my alarm at 5:50. I made French press decaf and sat in the backyard. It was odd not to go on a walk or do something more active. I spent a lot of the day researching the measles vaccine and measles risks. I picked up AJ. We had a busy evening. I fixed my Eufy robovac, which I'm still celebrating! I did a lot of dishes, emptied the vacuums, did the litter box, and I opened my new tower fan and took the box out to recycling. I did bath and bed time due to Matthew's back issues. I also made and cleaned up dinner.

A quiet moment |
6/25 I was up at 5 to bench and deadlift. Work was busy. We had a meeting, I did popcorn all day, and lunch with my manager, plus a Sam's Club run with my manager and skip level. I booked a hotel for next Wednesday night on the way to CA. I picked up AJ and took him to Walmart to return a wind chime Walmart sold me that was missing the actual chime piece. We went to eat at Itto Sushi as a family. I did AJ's bath, and we both bed time.

6/26 I slept in. Work was slow and quiet. I started spotting, which is later than my usual, so it messed with me mentally and emotionally. I went to Dr. Fischer's house (Ultradent owner) after work to help direct parking for an event. I ate, went home, did dishes, cleaned up, and did bath and bed time.

6/27 I was up at 5 to bench and squat. I made an appointment with Apple for my phone camera they broke with the update. I made an appointment for my car tire rotation. I tried to donate plasma but found it had been too long (by 13 days) and that I'd have to go through the whole new donor screening process again, so I left. I went to Home Depot then Costco to get my membership card, and got a few things there. I did some laundry and cleaning, went to Walmart, Smith's, and picked up AJ. I made a salmon bake I got at Costco and hated it. We got McDonald's and went to the park. I did bath; Matthew did bed time.
6/28 I was awake all night with bug dreams, again. I went to the gym, did laundry, showered, and took AJ to Smith's because something I purchased the day before had expired 9 days earlier. After Smith's, we went to Swig. I took AJ to the pool. Matthew came too, then I left to go to Fashion Place to get my phone fixed. $180 and over two hours later, I picked it up. I'm so annoyed about it; the update broke my phone, and then it was my problem to fix it. Anyway, I got home and got ready to go. My mom came to watch AJ. We went to Moki's for dinner and went to Taylorsville Days for the Queen tribute band and fireworks. We hadn't gone to see fireworks since before AJ was born.

6/29 I slept in (a little restlessly). AJ slept the latest he ever has in his life, but I guess he had been up from 4-5:30am. Benadryl helped me not have bad bug dreams for once. We went to Penny Ann's for breakfast. I took AJ on a stroller walk. I took AJ to the pool while Matthew did some home projects. I tidied the house and got ready for the relief society president to come meet me. I made dinner and spent some time in the backyard weeding. I did some lunch prep and vitamin prep. I did bath, and Matthew did bedtime.

6/30 I got up to go squat and bench press. Work was pretty quiet. I did some things--budgeting, money movement, started a new car insurance policy, etc. I picked up AJ and got gas with Matthew (we fill up at the same time using Smith's fuel points). It was a normal evening at home with tidying, dishes, dinner, bed, and bath time.
Books I read in June:
-The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine (audiobook)
-Until the Streetlights Come On by Ginny Yurich (audiobook)
