April in Review
4/1 I was up early for the gym. Work was pretty quiet. We watched the rocket launch in my coworker's office. I picked up AJ, got home, and made a Kevin's meal and quinoa. We chased AJ around all evening trying to feed him. I did dishes. We did bed time. I was in bed by 10, which is actually a big deal for me.
4/2 I got up at 6 and did cardio in the basement. I picked up donuts for work, and we had McDonald's lunch for my coworker's 10 year anniversary. I picked up AJ and handled the evening without Matthew since he was catering. After bathing AJ and getting him in bed, I watched Outlander and put music on my iPhone.
4/3 I woke up and walked on the treadmill. I did a half day at work. I got an oil change. I got groceries. I started cleaning and laundry. I picked up AJ and took him to get a hair cut. We went and got dinner at Panda Express, then got boba tea. Matthew had catering, so I handled AJ solo.
4/4 I went to the gym at 8 to train with my coach. Matthew had catering and left shortly after I got home. AJ and I jumped on the trampoline for a bit, and I pulled out some Easter stuff--baskets and plastic eggs. I had some family matters that took up a good chunk of my time and energy, so AJ watched more TV than I intended. I boiled eggs and did some laundry. After I finally showered, AJ and I went to Sandy to pick up cat food for Max, got a car wash, and went to Trader Joe's. We dyed Easter eggs the old fashioned way since I forgot to get a kit. I got us Little Caesars for dinner. We did bath and bed time.
4/5 I woke up to AJ's face smiling over me at 6:45am, and I actually loved it so much. I took him to the living room and recorded him going through his Easter basket. I made eggs and sausage for breakfast. After showering and getting ready, Matthew and I did an Easter egg hunt in the backyard for AJ. I made bird nest macaroons. I also made caramel with the leftover condensed milk; it was an ordeal. I did AJ's new puzzle with him a couple times, made him lunch, and otherwise just felt busy. I did get a chance to relax in the backyard on a lounge chair for 15-20 minutes in the sunshine. We went to my grandma's house around 5.
4/6 I was up early for the gym starting a new block. It was fun; I was able to superset and get done in 40 minutes. I had new hire orientation at work. I picked up AJ. We stopped at Smith's. We had leftovers for dinner. I did bath time, and finished out bed time because Matthew wasn't feeling well. I watched Outlander while Matthew made an egg casserole.
4/7 I was up at 6 to walk before work. It was a pretty quiet day at work. Not a lot going on, and lots of coworkers out on spring break. I picked up AJ, made dinner, and we ate outside while AJ played. We did bed time. I watched Outlander while Matthew did some more meal prep.
4/8 I was up early for the gym with my coach. Work was a little busier with a virtual class and popcorn day. I picked up AJ. We got Itto Sushi for dinner as a family. I did AJ's bath, and we did bed time.
4/9 I got up at 6 to walk before work. Work was super quiet, but I worked on several things. I picked up AJ, sold my rug pad, and made dinner. We started cleaning and laundry that evening because I planned a movie for Friday after work.
4/10 I got up at 5:30 for a short walk before going to get blood work done. I worked a half day. I went and saw Project Hail Mary at Cinemark in Draper. I picked up a shovel in Riverton. I got groceries and picked up AJ.

4/11 Matthew and AJ came with me to the gym. AJ wouldn't stay in the kids area, so I was a little stressed while trying to monitor him and lift. I worked on swapping out keyless doorknobs and put in a new front door deadbolt since the sellers didn't leave us keys for any knobs. Matthew got an oil change, got kabobs at Don's Meats, and went to ACE. Since the weather wasn't good, we were mostly inside all day. Matthew grilled for dinner.
4/12 AJ woke me up before 7. I got him some food and walked on the treadmill. After Matthew got up, we went to breakfast at Mimi's Cafe, then we got gas at Costco. It was a pretty calm day. Matthew started yard work. AJ and I went to Home Goods, Target (for milk), and Ding Tea. We had leftovers for dinner.
4/13 I got up to walk before work since I was still sore from Saturday. I kept pretty busy at work. I picked up AJ, heated up dinner, did his bath, and we did bed time. We watched Love on the Spectrum.
4/14 I got up to lift. I kept busy at work again. I picked up AJ, took him to Target for an order pickup, got Ding Tea, and got home. I heated up our dinner. We did bed time. Matthew read a book while I scrolled in bed.
4/15 I got up to lift again. Work wasn't as busy. I did make popcorn all day and had an afternoon class. I picked up AJ, and we got dinner at Mooyah with a coupon. We did bath and bed time. Matthew and I watched Love on the Spectrum.
4/16 I got up and did cardio. Work was exciting as we hosted a manufacturing event at my company. The theme was "respect for people," so the presentation focused on our ESL program, which I'm a big part of facilitating. As my manager is on maternity leave, I gave a brief overview of the program and invited some students to talk about their experience. There were also tours of manufacturing areas. I picked AJ up, and we went to Smith's for cupcakes and a mixer so I could make some sauce for dinner. I made us dinner. We did bed time and watched Love on the Spectrum.
4/17 I got up to lift. I worked a half day. I shopped at Sam's Club and Smith's. I made cupcakes for AJ's birthday party. I put together his party bags. I did some cleaning and picked up AJ. I decorated his cupcakes.
4/18 was AJ's birthday and party at Grandpa's Pond. He woke us up around 6am. I got him breakfast and did a treadmill walk. He wanted a Spiderman birthday. I did really well on the goody bags, if I do say so myself (play-do, sticky web, glow stick, mini bubbles, and Dum Dums). Wanted to give things that would get used and then promptly tossed, rather than plastic trash trinkets. We had Costco pizza and a lot of cake and cupcakes left. Friends stayed and helped us load up and clean up which was so nice. We took it pretty easy the rest of the day. I put all AJ's toys away, and Matthew put together his race track. We did a bath because AJ wanted to use his new bath bombs and Bluey shampoo. I ran to Momo's Cheesecakes, which was so good. Matthew went to his sleep titration appointment. After putting AJ to bed, I watched Outlander.
4/19 AJ woke me up before 6am. Thankfully he just stayed in my bed till Matthew got home. I made AJ breakfast. I cleaned and put things away to get ready for our friends to come over. Around 10:45 I went to Tous Les Jours and started a new book. I got home, changed, and started working outside. I focused on the weeds in our park strips. They look so much better. I did a little bit in the backyard garden. We had our friends the Juhls over for dinner. AJ was so happy to see Kennedy. They had a great time, and we loved having them over. We ate in the backyard. It was so nice outside. What a privilege and a blessing to be at this place in our lives that we have the room and means to host comfortably.
4/20 I woke up to go on a walk before work. It was a good day with New Hire Orientation and some other tasks. I also worked a little bit on my MASS review for personal training. I picked up AJ, stopped at Harmon's for a meal deal, and started cooking dinner at home. I sold a coat rack from Facebook Marketplace. We did bed time. I read a book in bed while Matthew scrolled.
4/21 I woke up early for the gym. It was a fairly quiet day at work with ESL set up and one meeting. I picked up AJ and went home. I ate and did some stuff in the garden. Steve and Jacque came over to bring AJ his birthday present--an apothecary kit. We had to make some tea that evening of course.
4/22 I went for a run before work. Work was good--popcorn day, HR Connect, and met with our HR rep from our Mexico subsidiary. I picked up AJ, and we went to Aroon Thai Kitchen. We got home, I took out trash, broke down more boxes, and sold our Schlage deadbolt. We did bed time and watched Love on the Spectrum.
4/23 I woke up early for the gym with my coach. Work was quiet--just worked on a course in Storyline and set up ESL. I picked up AJ and heated up dinner. We got Macey's cones as a family. We did bath and bed time; AJ was melting down hard.
4/24 I got up to walk before work. I sold a towel rack while at work and had a really great Teams chat with a coworker. I got groceries and started cleaning and laundry. AJ had a 4 year well check. We stopped at McDonald's. It was a normal evening at home.
4/25 AJ woke us up around 7. I started laundry and got ready for the gym. Doing squats, bench, and deadlifts in one workout end up being super time consuming for me. I stopped at the post office after the gym. I picked up Brown Bag Breakfast for me and Matthew; it was really good! Matthew and I worked in the yard. I lost track of time, and at 2pm I realized I needed to get ready for the Lazos' baby shower. I woke AJ up, but I guess he fell back asleep as I showered. I was late to the baby shower, unfortunately. It was a really beautiful and fun shower. I got Ding Tea on the way home. We did bath and bed time.
4/26 AJ woke us up before 7. I fed AJ, started laundry, and walked on the treadmill. I made breakfast for myself, then AJ requested what I had made. We went to the movies. I saw Michael, and the boys saw the new Mario movie. It was a rainy day, so it was pretty low-key. We just were inside as a family, and we watched far too much TV. We did watch The Princess Bride. I went through two issues of MASS to prepare to renew my CPT. Matthew made food. We did bed time. We watched Love on the Spectrum.
4/27 I got up to walk a little bit before work. Work was fairly quiet. I helped out at reception for a little while. I picked up AJ. Matthew was home early since he picked up his cousin from the hospital. He made dinner and cleaned up while I did MASS homework.
4/28 I got up early for the gym. Work was quiet again. I stayed a little late and picked up AJ. AJ had a really hard evening--he was tired and didn't feel well and was melting down over everything. We did an early bed time for him.
4/29 I was awake a lot of the night due to AJ coughing but got up before 6 and did some cardio. Work was quiet. I picked up AJ and picked up pizza. I had an HOA meeting online at 5:45. It was otherwise a normal evening with bath and bed time.
4/30 AJ threw up at 12:30am, and I got up at 4:40 for the gym. Work was pretty quiet, thankfully. I picked up AJ and stopped at Petco for litter. It was a normal evening at home, and I jumped on the trampoline with AJ a little bit.
